Kale (heading types)
Kale adds an interesting texture to fall, winter and spring gardens and landscapes, and is very tolerant of cold winter weather. It comes in two forms: heading and leafy. The growth habit of the heading types resembles that of cabbage but with a ruffled rather than smooth leaf. The heading types may be slightly less winter-hardy than the leafy types because of the tendency of water to collect in the center of the plant.
